Yellow Masoor and Moong Dal Recipe for Retreats
Buy 2 types of dal / legumes from Amazon.
Add one cup of each and boil it together with salt and bay leaves in cooker . It should mix well and creamy .
For seasoning heat 2 tablespoons of ghee and add ginger , garlic and little onion with cumin seeds, tumeric , paprika , cumin powder, mustard seeds if you have and dried fenugreek if you have or chopped cilantro . Let this heat up well and then add to the boiled dal and cook it for a few more minutes. then add some water so its not too thick . you can also add little mint . The herbs are key . Ghee will give it a lovely Ayurveda flavor.
Best is to make it for the week and freeze in batches . Eating a cup every day ( fantastic for the digestive system !)
